๐ About
Internet Simulator renders a monochrome 3D globe that visualizes global internet traffic as pulses of light. It simulates packet routing between 24 data center nodes across 38 submarine cables with realistic latency, congestion, and great-circle paths. Built with Three.js via expo-gl.
No data collection. No analytics. Everything runs on your device.
โ FAQ
What does the app do?
It displays a 3D globe and animates simulated internet traffic as light pulses traveling between data centers. It's a visualization tool โ no actual network traffic is generated or intercepted.
Why does it need location access?
Location is used only to place a blue dot on the globe at your current position. No location data is stored, transmitted, or shared. You can deny the permission and the app still works.
Can I control the simulation?
Yes. Use the controls at the bottom-right to pause/resume and cycle through simulation speeds: 1x, 2x, and 5x.
What data centers are shown?
24 major global data center hubs spanning North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, connected by 38 submarine cable routes.
